China is both the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases and a global leader in several areas of green technology. Its growing importance in the global climate transition makes it increasingly important to understand and engage with China while navigating the risks, challenges and opportunities associated with its role.
At the Swedish National China Centre, we monitor developments in China’s climate and environmental policies and analyse their economic and security implications. Through analysis and advice, we contribute to a deeper understanding of China’s role in the global climate transition.
We collaborate with expert and research networks, government agencies, businesses and other actors to strengthen understanding of both the challenges and opportunities associated with climate and environmental cooperation with China.
