The European China Knowledge Network (E-CKN) is a strategic initiative to strengthen Europe’s China expertise and capabilities through a network of research hubs and public-sector partners.
Founded in 2024, it is a collaborative platform hosted by four centers of excellence - the Dutch China Knowledge Network (CKN), the German Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS), the Swedish National China Centre (NKK), and the Warsaw-based Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW). E-CKN connects decision makers, experts, and academics; equipping European institutions and stakeholders across the EU with the insights needed to understand China and manage Europe-China relations with confidence.
