Björn Cappelin assumes the role as deputy centre director of the Swedish National China Centre
On March 1 Björn Cappelin assumes the role as deputy centre director of the Swedish National China Centre.
Björn has worked as an analyst at the Centre since November 2021. Before that, he served for 18 years in various positions at the Swedish Government Offices, which included working on China-related issues at the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation. He as also worked at the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the international organisations in Geneva and in the organising committee for Sweden’s participation in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Björn has an M.A. in East Asian Studies from Stockholm university, with a major in Chinese, and has studied at Beijing Language and Culture University.
As deputy centre director, Björn will lead the Centre’s work in the issue areas of trade and economy as well as science, technology and innovation.
