Research with restrictions
Together with MDU and on behalf of the Swedish Psychological Defense Agency (MPF), NKK is investigating how China's authoritarian political system affects Swedish-Chinese research relations. The study focuses in particular on studying the occurrence of repression against Sweden-based researchers.
China in Sweden (university course)
Together with MDU, NKK is offering the course Kina i Sverige (China in Sweden). The course examines the relationships and points of contact between Sweden and China, exploring how these interactions influence Sweden’s democracy, politics, and economy. The course is conducted in Swedish.
Mapping the interference on democracy in Swedish municipalities
In 2022, NKK collaborated with MDU on a research project examining threats to democratic processes in Swedish municipalities. The project began in January 2022 and was funded by the Swedish Psychological Defense Agency (MPF).
In the project, a research group from Mälardalen University (MDU) and NKK investigated how Chinese state actors influence democracy in Swedish municipalities. The project mapped which Swedish municipalities are most vulnerable to Chinese influence.
